Safe Communities with Great Neighbors Anti-drug, Anti-bullying, and Disaster Prevention Fair

The 2nd District Headquarters of the Taipei City Fire Department, in collaboration with the Taipei City Division, Taiwan District of Kiwanis International, will hold the " Anti-drug, anti-bullying, and disaster prevention fair" on Sunday, May 18, from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Small Stage in Daan Forest Park (No. 1, Section 2, Xinsheng South Road, Daan District, Taipei City). All citizens are warmly invited to bring friends and family to enjoy exciting performances, interactive booths and games, and to learn essential disaster prevention knowledge.

This disaster prevention fair promises to be full of exciting and enriching activities. The Police Department, the Fire Department, and the Children Burn Caring Association are among the many participants setting up diverse informational booths for public engagement. The Fire Department has specially designed interactive challenge stations to promote awareness of disaster preparedness. These include the " Fire Evacuation and Escape Challenge (Virtual Reality Experience)," " CPR-First Aid Training & Disaster Prevention App Promotion," " Lithium Battery Safety," " Home Safety and Evacuation 1216," "Manhole Rescue," "Kitchen Fire Safety," and the Earthquake Experience Vehicle. Visitors can also participate in prize-winning quizzes while learning vital disaster preparedness knowledge in a fun and interactive way.

For years, the Fire Department has adhered to the philosophy of making disaster education a part of everyday life and continues to raise public awareness. Citizens are strongly encouraged to install the three most practical disaster prevention apps:

  • " Taipei City Disaster Prevention App " – provides real-time weather alerts and disaster information.
  • " First On Scene App " – helps nearby OHCA patients receive CPR or AED defibrillation as soon as possible.
  • " Readiness TW e-APP " – allows users to report, locate, and understand disaster conditions via their mobile phones.

By using these apps, residents can enhance their disaster preparedness and help strengthen community-based resilience.

Taipei City has won the top spot in the "2024 County and City Overall and Sustainable Competitiveness Survey" by Global Views Monthly for the fourth consecutive time, and ranked first among the six metropolitan cities in "Public Safety and Firefighting," reflecting outstanding achievements in disaster prevention education. These accomplishments are rooted in meticulous attention to detail and consistent public engagement. Taipei City Fire Department invites all citizens and families to join this meaningful event—learn essential response skills through games and bring home a wealth of disaster prevention knowledge.
