The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 10,283 new domestic cases for Taipei City on May 10. As of May 9, the number of people under home isolation is 37,819, and those under home quarantine have reached 7,460.
The 11th round of vaccine reservation via the booking platform is open to the public on May 10 and 11. The hours of the platform last from 9 AM through 5 PM. The website (Chinese) is: https://booking.health.gov.tw
Currently, a shipment of the BNT/Pfizer vaccine for adults is undergoing sealing test by the central government and will be allocated accordingly, with priority given to booster shots for youths between 12 and 17. In light of the drastic increase in the number of domestic infections, DOH calls upon the public to get vaccinated, as a way of reducing the chances of severe symptoms and deaths.
Taipei City Hospital (TCH) Women and Children Branch has also set up a fast track queue for kids under 18 with fever or respiratory issues. As of May 9, a total of 310 patients have taken advantage of the queue. DOH reminds those who plan to visit the fast track queue to sign up TCH’s website or call the hospital beforehand.
Regarding the usage of local medical resources, DOH reported that as of May 9, there are still 759 beds available among a total of 2,085 hospital beds across COVID wards in Taipei City. There are also 22 emergency clinics designated for people who tested positive on home kits. These clinics can assist up to 8,590 people each day.
For individuals who experience fever, throat pain, cough, or runny nose, please take a rapid test before visiting the Taipei City Positive Rapid Test Emergency Clinic. If your rapid test turned out positive, please take note of the following:
If the PCR test result is negative, you should continue to follow the guidelines established by the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control to track your own health and protect yourself through best practices. People who exhibit no symptoms should avoid visiting the community screening station or hospital ERs.
