History of Department of Sports of Taipei City Government
| February, 1956 | Track and Field Preparatory Office was established. Formal groundbreaking ceremony was held in April 1956. Opening ceremony was held September 2, 1956. |

| May, 1956 | Management organization was formulated. Rules and regulations were submitted and approved by the Taipei City Council. |
| November 7,1956 | The Provincial Government officially named the office "Taipei Municipal Stadium", with Hsieh Tseng-hsun serving as first Director. |
| May,1958 | Ouyang Yuan-tien was appointed Municipal Director. |
| 1968 | Lin Hong-tan, principal of Taipei Municipal Athletic College, was appointed concurrent Director. |
| 1975 | Amendments on organizational rules and regulations were approved by Executive Yuan. Seventeen people were formally employed (including Director, Personnel Manager and Accountant). |
| 1977 | Liu Sao-pen, principal of Taipei Municipal Athletic College, was appointed concurrent Director. |
| 1985 | Tsai Te-long, principal of Taipei Athletic College, was appointed concurrent Director. |
| 1989 | Organizational rules and regulations were amended. Number of personnel was increased to 31 (one part-time personnel officer) |
| 1994 | Cheng Hu, principal of Taipei Municipal Athletic College, was appointed concurrent Director. |
| December 1997 | Kuan Wen Yan, lecturer at Taipei Physical Education College, was appointed concurrent Director. |
| July, 1998 | Liu Chia-Tseng of the Department of Education was appointed concurrent Director. He was formally appointed as Director in October 1998. |
| August, 2004 | Organization was upgraded to Taipei Sports Office. Liu Chia-Tseng was appointed Director, and number of personnel increased to 59. |
| February, 2007 | Taipei track and field area was reconstructed in the original location. |
| February 2,2007 | Liang Yong-fei was appointed Director of the Taipei Sports office. |
| February 21, 2008 | Farng Jenn-Kuen was appointed Director of the Taipei Sports office. |
| May,2009 | The Taipei track and field area were finished and approved by International Association of Athletics Federations(IAAF) first-level authentication. |
| March,2010 | Sun Chin-Chuan was appointed Director of the Taipei Sports office. |
| March,2012 | The Secretary General of Department of Civil Servant Development of Taipei City Government, Mr. Chen, Liang Hui, was re-designated as the Manager of Sports Office of Taipei City Government. |
| July 2, 2012 | Proposal of establishment of Department of Sports in Taipei City Government and corresponding organization restructuring regulations was approved by Taipei City Council. |
| August 10, 2102 | Sports Office was upgraded to Department of Sports of Taipei CityGovernment. Manager of the Market Administration Office of Taipei City Government, Mr. Ding, Rouh Tin was re-designated as the Deputy Commissioner and Acting Commissioner of this Department of Sports. |
| September 4, 2012 | The manager of Integrated Planning Department of Sports of Affairs Council of Executive Yuan, Mr. Ho, Jin Liang, was re-designated as the Commissioner of this Department of Sports. |
| October 28, 2014 | The Engineering Superintendent of Taipei City Government, Mr. Ho, Jin Liang, was re-designated as the Commissioner of Department of Sports. |
| December 25, 2014 | The professor of National Changhua University of Education Department of Sport and The dean of department of social science and department of physical education. Mr. Yang, Jong her was re-designated as the Commissioner of This Department of Sports. |
| February 5, 2015 | The Deputy Commissioner of Department of Education of New Taipei City Government, Mr Hung, Chia-Wen , was elected as the Commissioner of Department of Sports. |
| June 21,2016 | The Deputy Commissioner of Department of Sports Mr. Liu,Chia-Tseng was re-designated as the Commissioner of Department of Sports. |
| July 15,2016 | The professor of University of Taipei Mr. Jeng, Fang-Fann was re-designated as the Commissioner of This Department of Sports. |
| October 16,2017 | The Deputy Commissioner of Department of Sports Mr. Tsai Peilin was re-designated as the Commissioner of Department of Sports. |
| January 26,2018 | The professor of National Taiwan Sport University Mr. Li,Tzai-Li was re-designated the Commissioner of This Department of Sports. |
| December 25,2022 | The Deputy Commissioner of Department of Sports Mr. Tsai Peilin was re-designated as the Commissioner of Department of Sports. |
| January 6,2023 | The Director of Department of Education Yilan County Government, Mr. Wang Hung-Shiang, was re-designated as the Commissioner of Department of Sports. |
