Before signing the membership of a gym, can I ask the gym to provide a copy of the contract for me to read ahead?

Yes. Sports Affairs Council, Executive Yuan has mandated clearly that the sports business party should provide consumers a copy of the contract at least 3 days before signing of the contract. And both parties should not waive the viewing period or viewing right.
