2018 TAIWAN ATHLETICS OPEN PRESS CONFERENCE

Taiwan Athletics Open, as the highest level of track and field event in Taiwan, will be co-hosted by Chinese Taipei Athletics Association and Taipei City Government on 25-26 May in Taipei Stadium. This meeting has got Area Permit from Asian Athletics Association and is considered the most important event for many East Asian and South East Asian countries. Many Asian elite athletes use this meeting to reach qualification standard for Olympic Games, World Championships and Asian Games. 2018 Jakarta Asian Games will be hosted in August, past Taiwan Athletics Open and 2017 Taipei Universiade have left good impression and attracted around 18 Asian countries to gather in Taipei again.

As usual, Chinese Taipei Athletics has made special invitation for international elite athletes to compete against Taiwanese elite athletes, such as Chun-Han Yang (gold medalist in men’s 100m in Taipei Univrsiade and 200m in Bhubaneswar Asian Championships), Chao-Tsun Cheng (gold medalist in men’s Javelin Throw in Taipei Universiade and Asian record holder) and Chieh Chen (Silver medalist in Taipei Uniersiade)…etc. This invitation has been sponsored by Sport Administration, Ministry of Education.
