Top Players Compete for Championship
The Taipei Optimist Sailboat Invitational Tournament held by Taipei Sports Office has officially started on May 1st on the bank of the beautiful Dajia Sports Park. A total of 45 optimist sailboat players compete with one another in the purified waters of Keelung River. After 2 days of tense competition, Guan Chi, from Taipei City won the female championship, who also previously won the National Sports Association Optimist Sailboat female championships in 2007 and 2009. Chang Yiao-hsien won the male championship, who also represented the Sailboat Committee of Taipei Municipal Athletics Federation.
The Taipei Optimist Sailboat Invitational Tournament successfully concluded on May 2nd after heated competition among the top 45 sailboat players from all of Taiwan. The male players securing the first 5 places were:
Champion — Chang Yiao-hsien, Sailboat Committee, Taipei Municipal Athletics Federation
Runner-up — Jin Yu-chen, Sailboat Committee, Taipei Municipal Athletics Federation
3rd Place — Kang Fu-lin, Taipei County Sailboat Committee
4th Place — Lai Yi-sio, Sailboat Committee, Taipei Municipal Athletics Federation
5th Place — Huang Sio-chu, Yilan County Sailboat Committee
The female players securing the first 5 places were:
Champion — Guan Chi, Sailboat Committee, Taipei Municipal Athletics Federation
Runner-up — Hsu Chan-hui, Pingdong County Sailboat Committee
3rd Place — Chou Jue-yu, Yilan County Sailboat Committee
4th Place — Jiang Min-siuan, Yilan County Sailboat Committee
5th Place — Feng Cheng-ling, Yilan County Sailboat Committee
The exciting optimist sailboat events as well as other outdoor activities on the riverside of Dajia Sports Park attracted many people, who thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon on a wonderful weekend, also appreciating the purified waters of Tamshui River.
